CerSett Range
The CerSett range are setting ceramics, cements or mortars based on matrices of Fused Mullite, Sintered
Mullite, Alumina, Zirconia Mullite, Fused Spinel, Fused Silica, Magnesia or Sand. The choice of matrix is
dependent upon the application and properties required which may include:
- Thermal shock resistance
- Glass erosion resistance
- Electrical insulation
- Low Thermal Expansion
Cermatco Ltd produces CerSett powders to customers’ requirements in terms of particle size, fluid
properties, setting time and end use. Setting time can be closely controlled within a range of 2 – 20
minutes after mixing with a specified volume of CerSett A liquid, also supplied by Cermatco Ltd. The fluid
mix can then be poured into a shape, painted onto a structure or used as a cement / mortar. The ceramic
sets within the agreed time, can be accelerated with temperature, with a slight exotherm (not exceeding
80°C) and expansion to a hard ceramic surface. This shape can be fired if required to produce a tough and
durable ceramic exhibiting the parameters of the matrix. An ammonia free version (CerSett MK) is also
available.
Applications include:
- Mould repair of ceramic shells in Precision Casting
- Potting compounds
- Electronic insulation of components
- Block mould binding compounds
- Ceramic core repairs
- Rapid repair compound in the building industry
Available in 25kg plastic lined heat-sealed bags, plastic buckets or 1 kg plastic bottles.
